Q: What if I want all my locks to open with the same key?

A: This convenient option is called "Keyed Alike" and is typically identified by a "KA" in the model number for Master Lock products. This option provides a solution for applications where multiple locks are needed to be opened by one key.

Q: What is "Master Keying"?

A: Master Keying is the option for a group of locks to be keyed different from one another, but still can be opened by a single, independent master key.  This option is designated in the part number as "MK" for Master Lock products. This option is usually used in applications where supervisory or emergency access to locks is needed. The master key option gives the user full access and control over the lock system.

Q: I lost the keys to my lock, can I get replacements?

A: Yes, but you will need to know your key code.  The key code is the numbers or letters etched into the key that represents the configuration of cuts in that key, which makes it unique to your lock. A: This depends on if the lock is an item in stock or if the lock needs to be back ordered or manufactured to meet your specifications (IE. keyed alike, master keyed, custom engraving or color coding).
